The Zecboat Registry: One Key to Find Them All
New in Zecboat 0.7.1Every Zecboat collection writes its own proof onto the Zcash chain. The Registry is how you find that proof: with one key, from any Zcash node, without asking us.
The problem: a proof you cannot find
A collection's proof is recorded in shielded memos that only its viewing key can open. That keeps it private, but it creates a chicken-and-egg problem: to read the proof you first need the key.
A website could hand you the key. But then you are trusting the website, and the whole point was not to.
One key opens the others
The Registry is a single Zcash account. Its viewing key is public and pinned in Zecboat 0.7.1. Anyone can use it to read the Registry, and nothing else.

What a registration says
When an issuer registers a collection, one transaction goes to the Registry. It names the collection, its collection key, the blocks where it was minted and closed, and a fingerprint of its signed manifest. It carries the collection's viewing key, and it is signed with the collection key.
Zecboat never registers anything on anyone's behalf.
Open to read, closed to forge
A registration is a pointer, not a verdict. It says where to look. The audit that follows is what proves the collection is exactly what its issuer declared.
- Anyone can read it: three public values and any Zcash node
- Nobody can register a collection under a key they do not hold
- Append-only: a registration cannot be edited or removed
- Not a gate: the Registry approves nothing; the audit decides
If zecboat.com disappears
Everything lives on the chain. With zecboat.com unreachable, a Zecboat wallet still found Lagos Post Card through the Registry and verified it. We tested exactly that.
The three published values and any Zcash node are enough to recover and check every registered collection.
